Outlaws of the Marsh

I drew these two tough guys when I saw a painting by a brush painting artist‘s artwork about theses two characters in the book of “Outlaws of the Marsh”. The book is a fiction account of twelfth century events in the final years of Hui Zong, Song Dynasty emperor who reigned from 1101 -1125, it tells why and how 108 men and women are forced by the harsh federal officialdom and banded together on marsh-girt mountain, became leaders of outlaw thousands and fought brave and resourceful battles against pompous, heartless tyrants. I added a background with the tree , mountain and the sailboats on the water so that the picture makes more sense to the viewers.
