Raising the Flag Mount Suribachi, Japan, 1945.

This watercolour painting is based on the photo of “Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima” an illustration of six US marines raising the U.S. flag atop of Mount Suribachi during the World War II. Iwo Jima was the soil that U.S. marines first land during the World War II. Although I could not draw all the six marines of the 5th units, I would like to honour the U.S. service men and women with this painting.
