The Legend of Houyi and Chang’e

This drawing is an illustration of the Legend of Houyi and Chang’E. The couple was primarily angels in heaven, one day, their emperor, the ruler of the heaven sent Houyi to descend to earth to save earth because the emperor’s 10 unruly sons transformed into one sun and cause earth to suffer terrible heat. On Earth, Houyi took down 9 suns with arrows from his satchel, and left only on sun to give light and warmth to Earth. But the Emperor was mad, because he didn’t want his sons being killed. So he kicked Houyi and Chang’E out, they had to live on the Earth as a human.
